Adirondack Music Getaway with the Millstone Rounders

June 28-July 1, 2026 at Great Camp Sagamore, ADKS

Please join us for our brand new three-night music camp at Great Camp Sagamore! We’re calling it an Adirondack Music Getaway - a music camp, but in such a beautiful spot that really it’s a music vacation. Breathe in the fresh mountain air, rejoice that your phone has lost service, and join us for a few tunes on the porch or singing a song around the campfire. We’ll offer instrument classes, facilitate jams, performances, and more. It’s the first year, never been done before, and what a joy to get to shape this thing from the ground up. It’s also nerve-wracking to launch something brand new - we hope you’ll consider jumping in on this fledgling adventure!

Great Camp Sagamore sits on a private lake 3.5 miles down the driveway from the village of Raquette Lake, deep in the Adirondack Mountains of northern New York State. As you turn off Rt. 28 and head towards camp, you'll notice that the sound of traffic fades away; your phone loses service (though WIFI is available if you choose); and there are no other buildings or lights visible as you look out across the lake and the surrounding mountains. This is a chance to immerse yourself in nature, but with three square meals and a comfy bed.

We - the Millstone Rounders (James, Oona, Scott, Matt, Dylan) - have been busy crafting a camp experience that will appeal to a whole range of musicians. We are expecting both folks who are at the beginning of their musical journeys all the way to accomplished folks who are gigging regularly. We are committed to engaging and challenging everyone as they come. Possible workshop topics include: singing, harmony vocals, guitar, clawhammer banjo, bluegrass banjo, fiddle, mandolin, bass, ukulele, string band and vocal arranging, songwriting, ear training, improvisation, jamming skills, tune/song learning, and stagecraft.

Camp will convene Sunday evening with introductions, orientation, and informal music sharing; a chance to get to know each other.  We (the Rounders) will offer a concert Monday evening, and Tuesday we invite you to entertain us with a facilitated student sharing/concert. During the days we'll offer a wide variety of workshops based on student interest (see above), facilitated jams, and leave plenty of time to take a canoe paddle, check out the open air bowling alley, hike around the lake, join the twice daily history tours, and take in the vista from a rocking chair on the porch.

Whether you come for the nature, relaxation, or some intensive musical skill building, this is the perfect time to get away!

This just in: if you are based in the area of Raquette Lake, NY, and would like to sign up for just camp tuition and meals (but not stay over) we've got you covered!
